How We Hosted A Visual Feast with Fattened Caf

We had the opportunity to create a short commercial video for the winner of the Fresh Impact Award, an honor awarded by our partner agency, Experience Fresh. Open to all businesses based in St. Louis, the Fresh Impact Award package includes a brand video and photography. In 2023, the Fattened Caf stood out as the worthy recipient to the Experience Fresh team. When the time came to capture the boldness and excitement of Fattened Caf in a video, our partners at Experience Fresh knew we’d be up for the task. Thus, our journey begins.

Setting the Scene: Meet Fattened Caf 🇵🇭

In the heart of St. Louis, Fattened Caf is a family-owned restaurant with bold Filipino flavors and a welcoming vibe. Our goal was clear: capture the soul of this place in a way that makes you want to dive into the screen. We seized the opportunity to give this unique St. Louis gem the spotlight it truly deserved.

Herein laid our challenge. How could we capture the essence of a product that was a feast for all five senses… while only utilizing two of them?  

The Vision: A Bold Sensory Experience 🎥

Our vision? A commercial that echoes the very essence of Fattened Caf— delicious dishes, a friendly crew, and the vibrant experience they give each visitor. As we filmed, every shot aimed to evoke a full sensory experience where you can feel the energy and almost smell the symphony of Filipino flavors on the grill.  

And oh, we didn't stop at visuals. Sound was vital. We wanted the clinks of cutlery, the sizzles from the kitchen, and the hum of conversations to blend into a melody that would teleport you to the grill.

The Verdict: Beyond Expectations 🔥

It goes without saying, we make videos we’d want to watch, and we were thrilled with how it turned out. But ours isn’t the opinion that matters. So how did the Fattened Caf team react?? Priceless:

"This is so freaking good! I’m smiling from ear to ear. Like what the heck! You guys killed it! Honestly, I have nothing to change. The sound is amazing, the shots are great, everything looks clean and super put together. You guys did an amazing job.”

Feedback like that is music to our ears. Because at the end of the day, we want the team behind the brand and products we capture to be over-the-moon excited about what we put together for them. 

The Results: Spreading the Love

The commercial's reach on Instagram? Incredible. Organic reach on a commercial isn't something you see every day, but it happened. Here’s the data after two weeks:

Why It Worked 🌟

People love a good story and a delicious dish. Plus, a little element of surprise doesn’t hurt (remember the hook at the beginning?) When it comes to commercials and product placement, storytelling is key. It’s what makes content relatable, engaging, and, most importantly, shareable! It can’t simply be showcasing a product or a place; it has to invite viewers into an experience, weaving emotion into every shot and every beat.

A Little Extra 📸
