Part of our 2022 YouTube Shorts campaign, Feathers is a vertical short-form video showcasing our team’s ability to create commercials about anything and everything.

Vertical Video By the Numbers

As an experiment, we posted Feathers on all three major vertical video platforms (Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts) at the same time. We even used the exact same title and hashtags across the board. We expected some variations between the platforms, but we were shocked by the differences after a few days.

  • YouTube Shorts: 3.3K views / 19 comments

  • Instagram Reels: 19K views / 11 comments

  • TikTok: 425K views / 428 comments

Why this matters

Understanding your audience is critical. When our partners at Target wanted share the year’s top toys with young families, they didn’t launch a campaign of FM radio commercials. They asked our team to develop and produce a series of vertical videos for YouTube. Target knew where to reach that audience, and we met them there with short, engaging advertainment.

Soon after its release, Feathers was chosen as a Musicbed Awards Official Selection, among a few incredible films, mini docs, commercials, and other creative video work. We were honored that our humorous parody advertisement made the shortlist!
